Moscow, May 3 (EFE) .- The Vice Primer Russian Minister, Alexandr Nóvak, today called the countries of the OPEP+alliance, led by Saudi and Russia Arabia, to respect the limitations and compensation plan agreed at the meeting this Saturday.
“I would once again address all countries with the request that they contribute equally to the efforts to guarantee the balance of supply and demand (of crude). It is important to respect the levels of extraction, guarantee the compensation plan for breeding voluntary reductions breached,” he said in statements to Russian state television.
The Vice Primer Russian Minister warned that the fall in world economic growth scheduled for 2025 will negatively affect oil demand.
“We observe commercial wars between countries, a reduction in economic growth. And according to forecasts of many analysts, economic growth this year will be lower than the initial forecasts, which will affect the demand,” he said.
The OPEC+ alliance decided on Saturday to increase by 411,000 barrels per day (BD) its oil offer as of June 1, after having uploaded the pumping in the same volume this month.
The increase, which is in charge of eight of the 22 members of the Petroleum Alliance, was sanctioned in a telematics meeting, the organization of oil export countries (OPEC) reported on Saturday in a statement.
This new OPEC+ policy has been surprising in the markets, accustomed to the very cautious strategy that had been maintaining the alliance from the crisis unleashed in the sector by the Covid pandemic, focused on recovering the confidence of investors ensuring a high level of prices. EFE
