The two alleged perpetrators of the murder of José Luis Alvarado, a 33 -year -old man of Dominican nationality known as ‘Chelo El Regidor’, occurred at the Castro de Carballo Bar (A Coruña) on December 4, 2024, have been arrested in Madrid and Barcelona. These two investigated of Dominican nationality, 33 and 29, have entered provisional prison after being disposition of the Court of Instruction number 2 of the capital of Bergantiños.
As reported by the Civil Guard this Saturday in a statement, within the framework of the Regidom operation, these arrests have occurred half a year after different researchers to detain the two authors who broke into the bar located on Río Anllóns street around 8:00 p.m. on December 4, where several clients were, with the covered face and gun in hand to execute the victim through several shots. Subsequently, they fled the place in an electric scooter.
The Civil Guard highlights the “surprising coldness and expertise in the management of firearms” of the two murderers in an event that “caused great social alarm” in the Bergantian region.
“The victim died on the spot because of the multiple gunshot wounds, sowing fear and outrage among the residents of the quiet Galician town before the unusual brutality of the attack,” says the Civil Guard.

Thus, the group of crimes against the people of the Judicial Police of the Command of A Coruña, who brought known cases such as the murders of Diana Quer and Asunta Basterra, assumed the investigation of the crime. He had the collaboration of the Territorial Judicial Police team of the Civil Guard of Carballo and the Local Police in the first moments, although given the complexity of the case and the suspicion that the authors do not reside in the area, the collaboration of the Central Operational Unit (UCO), specialized in the most serious and complex crimes at the state level, was requested.
The main hypothesis that was considered from the beginning was that of an adjustment of accounts, given the circumstances that wrapped the case and especially the way the attack occurred. Thus, the Civil Guard confirms that this crime occurred “allegedly in relation to events that occurred above” from Galicia.
Precisely, the crime of Carballo transcended from the outset to various social networks, where profiles of the country of origin of the deceased indicated that in the past it was linked to organized crime bands.
The investigation was extended for six months with proceedings that included: exhaustive forensic analysis, taking statements to witnesses, discreet follow -up and analysis of multiple sources of information. “The authorized judicial measures were crucial to advance in the identification of the alleged authors, who had taken numerous precautions not to leave a trace,” explain the agents.
Arrests in Madrid and Barcelona
Once the incriminating evidence was obtained, a simultaneous operation was designed for the arrest of both suspects in their respective places of residence, one in Barcelona and the other in Madrid.
In Barcelona, agents of the Judicial Police Unit of the Civil Guard Zone of Catalonia, with the support of troops from the Mossos d’Esquadra de la Divisió d’encació Criminal (Dec) of the Metropolitan Police Regió Barcelona, carried out the arrest of the first involved without incident.
In Madrid, the detention of the second suspect required a more thorough planning, due to its alleged danger and the suspicion that it could carry weapons. Under the protection of the corresponding judicial authorization, the Special Intervention Unit (UEI) of the Civil Guard-elite unity of specialized in high-risk interventions were entry at home.
Once the domicile was assured and the suspect, members of the Organic Judicial Police Unit of the Civil Guard of the Command of A Coruña and the Central Operational Unit (UCO) proceeded to register the Housing.
After their arrest, both individuals were transferred to appropriate Civil Guard dependencies before being made available to the Court of Instruction number 2 of Carballo, which has decreed their entry into prison.
