Tokyo police announced Thursday that he accused of murder attempt to a man suspected of hurting two people in a knife attack on the eve in the Japanese capital’s subway.
Yoshitaka Almis, 43, was arrested Wednesday night at Tokyo alli-mae by suspicion of assaulting a man, a police spokesman told AFP.
“With the intention of killing (the suspect) stabbed his head and other parts of the victim’s body with an object similar to a knife he carried, causing injuries,” said the spokesman reading a statement.
Local media indicated that all supposedly attacked the victim several times, first on the station platform, and when the victim entered the subway car, he chased him and stabbed him again several times.
Other passengers apprehended all over, who was arrested on the site by the police, according to the press.
It is believed that everything and the victim did not know each other, the press said. He added that another passenger who helped stop the attacker suffered a cut in his hand.
Violent crimes are relatively rare in Japan, which has a low rate of homicides and strict arms control laws.
