This Thursday at about 8:50 p.m., Cuarta Cuarta personnel intervened before a traffic accident at the intersection of Ruperto Jiménez and Rivadavia streets in the western part of the city, between a Volkswagen Gol and a taxi.
Nestor Siri, traffic and transport coordinator of the city, in dialogue with El Chubut, indicated that after having detected an alleged alcoholic intoxication in the taxi driver, the presence of municipal traffic personnel was requested.
The breathalyzer test to the Volkswagen Gol driver showed a negative result, however when performing the test to the taxi driver, “there was no collaboration and due to the characteristics of the situation he presumed that it was under an alcoholic poisoning, so as established by the ordinances, the vehicle was seized.”
The documentation with the details was sent to the foul judge, which will analyze whether in this case the maximum breathalyzer fine corresponds, because the taxi driver did not refuse, “he also has the aggravating fact that he is a professional driver,” said Siri.
It should be remembered that the fines for breathalyzer increased recently. “The minimum infraction is around one million nine hundred and the maximum infraction is around nine million pesos, which is above two milligrams of blood alcohol.”
