The first audience of the cause investigating the death of Babacar Diouf, the Senegalese craftsman killed on October 12, 2024 in the area of the capital’s exterminal area, was carried out. The only defendant, Ángel Muratore, faces the accusation of being the alleged responsible for “simple homicide”, as the case was entitled.
Yesterday the room on the fourth floor of the building of the Jujeños courts of the capital, was the enclosure through which the witnesses of the incident passed, who lent their testimonial statement of what they saw, under the watchful eye of the court, composed of the judge with a function of trial Alejandro Gloss (President of Procedure), Mario Puig and Javier Salvatierra.
Consequently, they were present in the room, vendors that develop their economic activity in the vicinity of the corner of Dorrego and José de la Iglesia (when crossing it changes to Juana Manuela Gorriti), in addition to occasional passers -by who made purchases that Saturday at noon.
The only accused is Ángel Gustavo Muratore, 38, accused of the alleged crime of “simple homicide” against the Senegalese artisan Babacar Diouf. The defense of the defendant is carried out by Marcelo Salinas, while on the victim’s side a complaint has not been constituted.
Accusation
According to the requisition of the Prosecutor’s Office, exercised by Diego Cussel, on October 12 around 13.15 Babacar Diouf was working on his street sales post, located on Dorrego Street, Plazoleta front Eva Perón, in the Gorriti neighborhood of the Jujeña capital.
While the citizen of Senegalese origin was attending to some clients, the accused Angel Muratore approached and would have extracted from his garments a knife to subsequently stab him on the neck.
After this, the victim managed to defend himself with a tool he used in his daily work, with which he hit his attacker in his head.
Given this situation, a man who was in the vicinity reduced the defendant, while the police and SAME were notified. Minutes later, the injured man was transferred to the “Pablo Soria” hospital, where hours later he lost his life following a “hemorrhagic shock.”
Consequently, Ángel Muratore, according to the requisition of the Prosecutor’s Office, is accused of the alleged crime of “simple homicide”, which according to article 79 of the Criminal Code of the Nation provides for a prison sentence between 8 and 25 years in case of being found responsible for the fact.
After the audience, it went to an intermediate room until next week, where other witnesses must provide their testimonial statement.

However, continuing with the story line, the accused returned to the location of the Senegalese artisan and stabbed it in the neck area.
Following this, the victim defended himself with a tool, through which he hit the head of his aggressor. Finally Diouf, because of the great blood loss collapsed, while a man reduced the attacker.
Another testimony also pointed to Muratore as the person responsible for the crime, since he pointed him out as the person who shouted insults and threats and then attacking the street worker with a knife, without the latter provoking him previously. In addition, the weapon used was on the floor with visible blood marks. The witness also said that a young man, an employee of a close trade, tried to help the victim at the loss of blood.

For that reason, the trade employee who tried to help Babacar Diouf after being stabbed while losing a large amount of blood, said he observed the attacker to reach the victim’s post shouting insults and threats. In addition, he said that he saw him arrive walking from José de la Church, from the corner with Santiago del Estero, to which he added that the accused was not in good condition, which seemed that it was under the effects of some substance.
