As detailed, the basic infrastructure is completely installed and, in the next few days, progress will be made in the formal authorization of home connections. “We calculate that in about 20 more days, the network will be ready, with its approvals and everything necessary so that the neighbors can use the service,” he said.

The work has an extensive : it began to project in 2009, but for years it was stagnant. Only in this management it was possible to reactivate it, thanks to the intervention of the Team of the Municipal Development Institute (IMD). “I think we are quite past times, but the important thing is that it could be realized,” Rivarola acknowledged. Through sustained work, more adherents were added and the agreements with the lending company were reactivated.
The connection to natural gas represents a substantial relief for families. “We know the problem with packaging gas. This work also helps reduce costs in the home economy,” said the mayor, referring to the impact it will have on the pockets of the neighbors, especially in the current economic context.
In addition to concluding the work in the Barrio 18 de November, the Municipality is already planning the extension of the service to other sectors of the city that do not yet have this basic supply. In that sense, Rivarola anticipated that the next objective is to take the network to Ciudadela. “That neighborhood has no natural gas. Therefore, the idea is to end here and start there. We have been working on the signing of agreements with the neighbors and with the company,” he explained.
However, the improvement of basic services is not limited to gas. The mayor also expressed concern about the of the road infrastructure of the neighborhood. “A pending matter is asphalt, the concrete of the main avenue. It is a very busy street that never had maintenance,” he said. Although he acknowledged that the economic context imposes restrictions, he expressed his desire to this year at least with an initial section of the work. “Let’s see if we can start with the 100 or 200 meters. The desire and predisposition are,” he added.
In a close and committed tone, Rivarola said that its management prioritizes works that directly impact people’s daily lives. “It’s not about promising, but about complying,” he concluded, underlining the importance of responsible planning and teamwork with local institutions and neighbors themselves.
