The municipal police of Tours then had to intervene and make use of “tear gas”. Shortly after, “two national night command police were violently taken to task by around thirty individuals,” the statement added. “One of the national police officials was seriously injured and suffered from a skull fracture after receiving a stroke with a blunt object,” he also specified, while “several municipal police and private security agents were also injured”.
According to the newspaper La Nouvelle République, the brawl broke out on the outskirts of the entrance to the gastronomic village, near the fun fair, where security agents were “taken by a group of around thirty fairgrounds, targeted by blows and barrier jets”.
