After thirty years of religious and military dictatorship, Sudan experienced in 2019 a historic popular uprising which led to the fall of the regime of Omar El-Béchir. Sudan, remember follows the journey of young Sudanese and Sudanese – poets, artists, activists – who, by their words, their songs and their creations, challenge repression and bear hope for a democratic future.
From this unfinished revolution, Hind Meddeb captured the effervescence of the streets of Khartoum, the strength of the slogans, the power of poems, but also the brutality of the repression which fell on the demonstrators, to the massacre of June 3, 2019.
