In conversation with the podcast Reyes del Drama, Luz Valdivieso, he told how he started his way in the teleseries with the forgotten “Canela” leather of Channel 13, but also, on Mega’s remake.
“I went to a casting, I had done as a theater on Channel 13, at that time I was on channel 13 (…) and there they had seen me, so they liked them as this little girl stood up, this young girl, and they called me casting,” Luz Valdivieso said.
“I did the casting, and I do not remember if it was Willy Semler or Cristián Mason, but indeed one of the two told me ‘you made it incredible, but you are so white, so pale, you look so cuica, as we need you to be more popular,’”he confessed.
Then he said that, independent of this observation they made, they finally called her to participate in the television series.
Remake of ‘The Lord of the Quence’
On the remake of ‘The Lord of the Querencia’, where Leontina gave life-person who in the original version was interpreted by Barbara Ruiz-Tagle-, Luz Valdivieso was sincere in a digital space about his experience in this new version and came out in defense of the realization of this type of productions.
“I loved Leontina, I loved it, I connected to that character from a more vulnerable place, I didn’t judge it”he confessed.
Making a comparison with the original version, the actress recognizes that “There were other times, another language, we were just understanding violence to women.”
Luz Valdivieso marked a key difference between the original TVN version and Mega’s remake: in his opinion, the choice of Gabriel Cañas as the protagonist did the most bearable process compared to what would have meant working with Julio Milostich.
“The fact that Gabriel was the protagonist caused him to be very bearable for the actresses we share with him. It is different, here I can be even discriminating, because it is different that a man ‘machito alpha’ violes you, even if he is acting, to a person who is gay, who is super sensitive, or that he is a heterosexual man but with a sensitivity like Gabo”he said.
Beyond the criticisms that remakes usually receive, Luz Valdivieso believes that many of them are based on a conceptual error. “I think it was much better than it is believed with the new rating measurement. When there is a good script, a good script or play, you can repeat a thousand times.
