The president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, said Monday that the country is in his “best political moment” when nine months of the presidential elections in which the National Electoral Council (CNE) proclaimed his victory, a result questioned by the majority opposition and part of the International community.
“Nine months of the battle we gave for peace, for freedom, for sovereignty, for democracy, nine months and we are at our best political moment, the best moment of the peace in Venezuela,” said the Chavista leader in his weekly television program With Maduro+.
Maduro reiterated that, nine months after his “victory,” the “sovereignty resides intransfestibly in the town, who exercises it permanently, as he has exercised yesterday (Sunday) in the popular, communal consultation, which has been a success”, in reference to an election in which the communities voted for projects financed by the Government.
“We have made 31 constitutional elections, we have won 29, the last one nine months ago, now we go on May 25 (regional and legislative elections) what will be a world record, the 32 choice, the final decision remains in the hands of the people, to continue moving forward in a constructive agenda, the constructive agenda 2025-2031,” he said.
This Monday, the opponents Juan Pablo Guanipa and César Pérez Vivas denounced that nine months have passed from what they considered the electoral “fraud” in the presidential presidential ones of July 28, 2024, when the common entity proclaimed Maduro as winner.
For Guanipa, on July 28 there was “a heroic deed” in which “millions of Venezuelans” raised their voice and demonstrated that they want “freedom, justice and a decent future”, in reference to what insists was the triumph of the opposition leader Edmundo González Urrutia.
However, he continued, “a mature unworthy docked the presidency and vote” and “later pursued and imprisoned those who wanted, to anyone who would have been part of the great popular triumph that he tries to make fun.”
For his part, Pérez Vivas said that today there are new months of what he considered the “robbery” of Maduro and his “clique” to “popular sovereignty.”
Maduro was proclaimed winner of the presidential presidential ones, controlled by rectors related to Chavismo, based on results that are still unknown, despite the fact that the official schedule, approved for the celebration of these votes, contemplated its publication.
The main opposition alliance —The Democratic Unitary Platform (Pud)— He accused Maduro of consummating a “coup d’etat,” by ensuring that his leader, González Urrutia, was the winner of those elections, which says he supports with 85.18% of the voting records that claims to have gathered thanks to witnesses and table members.
