Yorely Bernal and Raida Inciarte, mother and grandmother of a two -year -old Venezuelan girl that – they denounce – is kidnapped in the United States, They demanded this Wednesday, from Caracas, to the government of President Donald Trump the return of the childwhose father, they say, is one of the more than 200 migrants in the country deported in March to El Salvador.
“The only thing I ask is to return my daughter and my husband”Bernal said in a televised act next to the Attorney General, Tarek William Saab. The woman claimed to ignore the location of her daughter, although she presumes that she is in Texas, from where they deported her on a flight that arrived in Caracas on Friday.
Case as a Venezuelan girl away from her mother by the United States government
According to Bernal, she delivered along with her husband and daughter on May 14, 2024when the child had a year and three months, on the border between the Mexican Ciudad Juárez and the American El Paso, in Texas, after which he was “five days detained.”
“Some officers tell me that I have to deliver my daughter, I say that not my husband takes her off her arms, she was taken away, and they handcuffed us both.” This was reported by the woman, who said that she was subsequently transferred with her partner to the “Processing Center” in Texas, where she remained “10 months detained, without an explanation, just because she had tattoos.”
The girl’s grandmother warned that it is “a kidnapping” and said that she called her “the substitute mom,” who had told him that “he had prepared the girls” for his return to Venezuela.
“I ask the United States Cruel Government to return my granddaughter, (…) My granddaughter is Venezuelan and here she has a mother and grandmother waiting for her,” he said in the activity, transmitted by the private channel Globovisión.
For its part, The prosecutor indicated that Bernal was told to be deported to his country “with the girl.” He also said that she saw the list that confirmed that information.
They denounce irregularities
The head of the Public Ministry (MP, Prosecutor’s Office) explained that in this case “multiple crimes” have been committed, among which he mentioned the “kidnapping” of the girl and the “illegal detention” of the parents “without explaining the reason”, although the official insisted that the reason is that both have tattoos.
It is, Saab denounced, a “vulgar, macabre and criminal action carried out by the United States government” to this Venezuelan family, which, “has no background” in the Caribbean country “or in the Western hemisphere”, so it also demanded the return of the girl and urged Unicef to take “letters in the matter.”
The prosecutor announced on Tuesday the opening of an investigation into the case of the girl, who according to the complaints, the United States government separated from his mother. This before addressing the repatriation flight that arrived in the South American country last Friday.
