The president of the Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, held an encounter with the patriarch of the Russian Orthodox Church, Cirilo de Moscow, his visit to the Eurasian . The meeting was an exchange in which both figures expressed mutual respect and addressed issues of common interest.

At the beginning of the meeting, the religious leader received the Venezuelan of with a narrow hand, symbol of friendship and recognition. Subsequently, both discussed the role of faith in the construction of societies based on respect and coexistence.

President Maduro emphasized Venezuela’s vision as a nation that drives a multipolar , based on equality and respect between countries of different sizes and capacities. “Venezuela is emerging as a power based on respect, where we can live with large, medium and small nations, united in a single town,” he said.

After the conversation, the authorities made a brief tour of artistic spaces, where they shared impressions about culture and historical legacy. In addition, they exchanged gifts as a gesture of fraternity.

The encounter reinforces the ties between Venezuela and the Russian Orthodox Church to consolidate a relationship marked by interreligious recognition and dialogue.
