Nayib Bukele proposes Maduro in favor of political prisoners

President Nayib Bukele proposed to Nicolás Maduro an agreement to repatriate Venezuelan migrants expelled from the United States and detained in a maximum security prison in El Salvador, accused of belonging to the Aragua Train, in exchange for the release of political prisoners in Venezuela.

«I want to propose a humanitarian agreement that contemplates the repatriation of 100% of the 252 Venezuelans who were deported, in exchange for the release and delivery of an identical number (252) of the thousands of political prisoners that you maintain, ”Bukele said this Sunday in X.

Bukele said that, unlike Maduro, He has no political prisoners in El Salvador. In addition, he assured that Venezuelans held in El Salvador were arrested in the context of operations against gangs in the United States.

“They have not committed crimes”

«Unlike our detainees, many of whom have murdered, others have committed violations, and some had even been arrested multiple times before being deported, their political prisoners have not committed any crime. The only reason why they are imprisoned is for having already opposed your electoral fraud, ”said the Central American president.

Bukele stressed that among political prisoners in Venezuela is «Rafael Tudares, son -in -law of Edmundo González; the journalist Roland Carreño; the lawyer and activist Rocío San Miguel; Mrs. Corina Parisca de Machado, mother of María Corina Machado, whom they intimidate daily and sabotage access to basic services such as light and water; as well as the four political leaders noticeable in the Embassy of Argentina and other Venezuelans political prisoners ».

He added that the exchange would include the almost 50 foreign citizens arrested in Venezuela: American, German, Dominican, Argentina, Bolivian, Israeli, Chilean, Colombian, Ecuadorian, Spanish, French, Guyanese, Dutch, Iranian, Italian, Lebanese, Mexican, Peruvian, Puerto Rican, Ukrainian, Uruguayan, Portuguese and Czech.

Finally, he added that the Foreign Ministry of El Salvador will send a formal proposal to Maduro. “God bless the people of Venezuela,” he concluded.
