A plan to boost the Venezuelan timber industry was coordinated between authorities of the Ministry of Popular Power for Industries and national Production and representatives and spokesmen of the forestry sector.
During the meeting, led by the minister of Industries, Alex Saab, he agreed to reactivate the productive capacities of sawmills and carpentry throughout the country. This effort, backed by Maderas del Orinoco, a company responsible for providing raw material, will increase the national production of this item, to enhance currency generation and reduce import dependence.
In addition, the elaboration of a strategic plan was agreed to integrate this industry with the construction and education sectors, for timber products directly to the end customers.
The meeting integrated the participation of the Vice Minister of National Productive Development, Laila Tajeldine; the vice minister for the small, medium industry and new associative forms, Roigar López; The president of Maderas del Orinoco, Liseth Álvarez, and the president of the military company for the sustainable use of forest products and natural resources (Emasproforn), G/B Engelberth Yastrzems Díaz Ruiz.
