Caracas subway adjusted their rates: this was the prices

The Caracas underground transport system, which includes the subway, metrobús, search and cable systems, announced on Monday, May 5 that He applied an adjustment in the travel rate and its Suve cards (unique electronic travel system).

The state company shared on Instagram the new prices, as established in the Official Gazette No. 43,114 dated April 24 of the current year.

The new rates of the Caracas Metro

— Red card: Each trip has a price of 15 bolivars and the card can be purchased for 40 bolivars. Available for users in general.

— Blue card: It is directed for students of different educational levels and a 50% discount is stipulated in the cost of the passage, that is, 7.50 bolivars. To acquire it, a constancy of studies and the student’s identity card must be presented, in case of not having a card, they must go to their representative. University students must present their current card.

— Yellow card: destined for older adults and people with disabilities. To acquire it, 40 bolivars must be canceled. However, they will be exonerated from the payment of trips. Women from 55 years of age and men from 60 years must present their identity card to buy it.

The last tariff adjustment was made in March 2024when the price per trip went from 5 to 10 bolivars.

Months later, The authorities replaced the use of T-Tickt with the single electronic travel system (SUVE) to “facilitate” access to the underground transport of the capital and guarantee “a faster and faster service for users.”

The Suve allows users to access the subway through an electronic card. This can be recharged in advance, which speeds up the process of entry to the stations and avoids long lines in the ticket offices.
