Russia, May 8, 2025. The president of Venezuela, Nicolás Madurohe met with his counterpart Kazakhstan, Kasim-Yomart Tokáev, within the framework of a joint visit to Moscow, where both leaders approached strategies to consolidate the cooperation ties between their nations.
The meeting had as its main objective the strengthening of collaboration in fundamental areas, especially in the economic and energy field.
Venezuela expressed interest in expanding cooperation with Kazmunaygas, the state company of Kazakhstan.
Since this country houses 50% of oil and gas reserves of the Caspian Sea and plays a crucial role in international forums such as OPEP+ and in the community of gas exporting countries.
Since 2019, when the first meeting in the capital Kazaja, Astaná took place, both countries work to revitalize their relations in diplomatic, commercial and, in particular, energy.
This recent meeting reaffirms Venezuela’s commitment to strengthen its alliance with Kazmunaygas, to promote joint exchanges and projects that benefit both nations.
Also, President Maduro stressed the importance of establishing a more robust collaboration that drives the development and economic well -being of both peoples.
In addition, he emphasized that cooperation in the energy sector is key to achieving these objectives.
