Last Thursday, May 1, YPF reduced the price of their Fuels In 4%, a considerable decline that from the government celebrated it. The reasons are varied, although the fall of crude oil and the elimination of some tax components generated this impact, to which they also adhered Shell y Axion Energy.
In the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires (CABA) there was a decrease of 4.75% average, with higher declines in the most expensive Fuels. This was quickly caught by the oil companies, which at noon on Friday lowered their “in line with the market” prices, in order to avoid a fall in their sales and even ensure that they “monitor” the situation closely.
YPF’s decision obeyed “permanent analysis of a series of key variables that the company performs to define its price policy,” they said from the firm. Among these factors, the evolution of the international price of the Brent crude, the price of the exchange rate, the current tax burden and the price of biofuels.
-The decrease in Shell and Axion was in equal proportion, 4%, while Puma has not yet made any decision about it. It should be noted that YPF has 60% of the fuel market in Argentina, so the remaining 40% distribute it among all the companies mentioned, so none wants to stay with higher prices for a matter of competitiveness.

The most pronounced reduction of the YPF oil company was in the Euro Gasoil, which went from $ 1,472 in April to $ 1,354 in May, which implies a decrease of 8.02%, according to data shared by Infobae. He was followed by the premium gasoline, whose price fell 5.97%, from $ 1,474 to $ 1,386. Meanwhile, the common diesel fell 2.98% (from $ 1,209 to $ 1,173), while the super gasoline recorded the lowest variation with a 2.01% decrease, as it descends from $ 1,194 to 1,170 pesos.
While these prices vary according to service station and others, shell and axion fuels are expected to be located in similar prices for the next few days, which would represent a decrease in equal proportion for almost the entire market.
