Andrea Kimi Antonelli won the pole position for the Sprint Race of the Miami 2025 Grand Prix.
The Italian driver scored the best time in Miami Gardens, recording 1: 26,482 and exceeding only 0.045 seconds Oscar Plastri and 0.100 Lando Norris of McLaren.
Max Verstappen and teammate George Russell took place, while Charles Leclerc, Lewis Hamilton, Alexander Albon, Isack Hadjar and Fernando Alonso – who, despite a complicated start with Aston Martin, managed to force access to the SQ3 – completed the first part of the ranking.
In the SQ2, Carlos Sainz had a difficult day: the FIA canceled one of its times and a serious mistake in the last lap excluded it from the recordings. The Spanish pilot then came out together with Liam Lawson, Pierre Gasly, Esteban Ocon and Nico Hulkenberg.
In the first phase of the eliminations, the real surprise was the exit of Yuki Tsunoda, penalized by his own team and unable to create a competitive time in the last lap; Oliver Bearman, Gabriel Bortoleto, Jack Doohan and Lance Stroll joined him.

What happened in the FP1 for the Miami GP?
Carlos Sainz achieved a huge result and was the surprise of the first free training of the Miami Grand Prix. The pilot born in Madrid obtained the fourth best time of the entire session, thanks to a 1: 27,678 seconds.
It was overcome only by Oscar Plastri, Charles Leclerc and Max Verstappen. Alexander Albon, Isack Hadjar, George Russell, Yuki Tsunoda, Kimi Antonelli and Fernando Alonso, arrived behind the Williams number 55. Lando Norris made a mistake in one of his laps and ended up in twelfth position, in front of Lewis Hamilton only.
Oliver Bearman slammed in the final minutes of the FP1 and caused the exposure of the red flag, which interrupted the remaining few seconds of the first release of the cars in Florida.
These are the final times of the first free training in view of the Miami Grand Prix of the 2025 Formula 1 World Championship.
