It has been a few weeks since we have seen the fast machines in the NTT IndyCar Series in action. America’s open-wheel championship returns to a familiar course on Sunday for the annual Children’s of Alabama Indy Grand Prix.
The last time we saw IndyCar in action was on the street course in Long Beach, California. It was the Kyle Kirkwood masterclass three weeks ago, where many got to see what the Andretti Motorsports driver was capable of. After scoring the pole for the race, Kirkwood led 46 laps in the in the race, the most of any driver, taking home his first win of the season.

It was a big win for Kirkwood and his team, especially since he kept the hard-charging Alex Palou from winning the first three races of the season. However, Palou still finished second in the event, extending his early-season championship lead.
The Alabama Indy Grand Prix has been a mainstay on the series calendar since 2010. Since then, big names like Will Power and Josef Newgarden have taken home the checkered flag in Birmingham. Scott McLaughlin has won the last two events at Barber, with Palou and Pato O’Ward also winning in the past.
