The State Attorney General of San Luis Potosí (FGESLP) confirmed the death of two people deprived of liberty as a result of the fight registered on Sunday afternoon May 4 inside the Social Reintegration Center (Cereso) of The battery.
According to an official bulletin issued by the Social Communication and Linking Coordination of the institution, agents of the Investigation Police (PDI) implemented various proceedings after the incident, confirming the hospitalization of seven people.
Two of them died and were transferred to the Scientific ViceFiscalía For the corresponding actions, while five more still receive medical attention.
-The Prosecutor’s Office indicated that the probable responsible for the aggressions that caused the deaths have already been identified, so the corresponding investigations will continue for the clarification of the facts within the prison.
“The institution confirmed the death of two people […] The probable responsible in the death of persons deprived of their liberty are identified, and the conducting investigation will continue, ”says the statement.
For his part, Governor Ricardo Gallardo Cardona declared that the fight inside the prison was a confrontation between criminal groups. Although he did not offer more details about the subsequent causes or measures, the president said that the fact had already been controlled.
The case remains in the process of investigation and so far no more official details have been issued about the inmates involved or on the conditions of the people who are killed within the prison.
