Synopsis

Lyon, 1943. In France occupied during World War II, Lieutenant Fontaine is arrested by the German army. After a frustrated attempt to escape from the convoy that leads him to prison, he is imprisoned and very soon, sentenced to death. Without fainting, Fontaine devotes his imprisonment time to thoroughly prepare his escape. To do this he has his hands and the tools that his meager cell and chance provide him.
