And, after Bravos de Margarita’s mistake of including three of its stars on the wrong lists; As reported by journalist Carlos Valmore Rodríguez, these players were available to be claimed by one of the other seven teams as they were not properly protected.

These are Breyvic Valera, catcher Wilson Ramos and first baseman José Osuna; who lives in Japanese Professional Baseball (NPB; by its official acronym).

Now, the draw was carried out according to the reverse order of the standings for the 2022-23 season, with the Águilas del Zulia being in first place, due to their last place in the previous harvest. Given this, and again after the vicissitudes that occurred with Bravos, the predatory team took utility player Breyvic Valera.

However, the championship conditions summarize in its clause ‘7.07’ and according to what is described by the LVBP portal that “each club has the right to protect sixty (60) players, not including the exceptional cases provided for in this same clause”.

“The LVBP will require each team to present the Roster of the Sixty (60) Protected Players, and another additional list of those who are not included, due to their Major League status, due to extreme fatigue, those injured and the players who will not be under this protection. Both lists must be sent before 12:00 noon (pm) on November 11, 2023.”
