The World Athletics Championships indoor event that will be held in the city of Glasgow (Scotland) will lose a little shine, since one of the current champions will not participate in this 2024 edition.

The tournament that will be held from March 1 to 3 will not have Yulimar Rojas on the court, current champion of the triple jump specialty, who won the title in the last three editions (2016, 2018 and 2022).

The reason why the Venezuelan will not participate in this edition of the Indoor World Championships is that she focused her season on outdoor events with the intention of preparing for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games that will take place from July 26 to August 11.

Rojas’ last season was totally successful. She achieved her fourth title in a row at the World Athletics Championships, and she is also the only woman to achieve that number of titles in the triple jump specialty.

He also won the gold medal at the Central American and Caribbean Games, where he set the competition record, won his third consecutive World Athletics Diamond League and holds the world record with 15.74 meters and the Olympic record with 15. .67 meters.
