At the beginning of date 10 of the National Championship, O’Higgins and Unión Española tied 2-2 in El Teniente. With this result, the Hispanic team is third with 19 points and the light blue team is seventh with 14 points.
At 8′, Franco Frías opened the account for the visit, after a great assist from Pablo Aránguiz. While ‘Chipi’ scored his fourth goal with the red shirt, the former Universidad de Chile midfielder showed that he is having a great time.
O’Higgins, for his part, reacted at 41′, when Simón Contreras scored the tie with a powerful cross shot. There was excitement for the homeowner.
In the second half, Unión Española lost level at 65′, through Valentín Adamo, and thus the team began to get closer to the U in the table. The three points were leaving him as a guard.
The victory seemed a fact, because O’Higgins did not do much to change history either. However, at 87′ the unexpected happened: A lethal counterattack ended with Bryan Rabello’s goal and the duel ended 2-2.
But the excitement didn’t end there. Afterwards, Antonio Díaz left O’Higgins with 10 men and the referees denied Unión Española a penalty, at the request of the VAR.
The tie, by the way, does not leave the sky blue fans alone. Today, in the middle of the game, a canvas was shown that said ‘Azconzábal out’.
