On the way to the establishment, the boxer lost consciousness and then had to undergo emergency surgery. After being in an induced coma for three weeks, he died.

“We mourn the loss of Ardi Ndembo, a talented Congolese boxer who tragically passed away after a knockout in a Team Combat League match on April 5. He remained in an induced coma until his untimely death. RIP Ardi Ndembo!”, the sports promotion group Viva Promotions published on social networks.

Iron, as they called Ndembo, was the father of two children and left a perfect record in eight boxing appearances, with seven knockouts to his name.
