The Spanish team showed its class once again and after going down on the scoreboard, managed to come back with two goals from Joselu to advance to the final, in which they will face Borussia Dortmund.
However, the match was marked by a controversial play that has social networks on fire.
The German victory seemed certain, but at the bell Neuer rejected a shot from Vinicius and the rebound was finished off by Joselu at the goal mouth to tie (88).
Just two minutes later, the merengue striker finished off a cross from Rüdiger to make it 2-1 (90). Initially disallowed for offside, the goal was validated after a video referee review.
scandal move
It was an action in the 102nd minute in which the referee whistled for an alleged offside, in a play that ended in the German team’s tying goal.
The controversy is on because in the replay there is no clarity that the Bayern Munich player who tries to play the ball is ahead before the ball falls to De Ligt, who scored with the goalkeeper immobile. There is clearly an error in the refereeing procedure, since the linesman raised the flag and cut off the attacking play. With the whistle, the Madrid players remain still.
The people from the German team ran to protest, but the center-back, Marciniak, decided that the play was void. And after that controversy, Madrid won 2-1 and certified their place in the final.
German annoyance
“He told me ‘I’m sorry, I made a mistake,'” De Ligt added about his conversation with the linesman.
