The Formula 1 arrives at Imola for the first time since May 1 marked the 30th anniversary of the tragic 1994 San Marino GP, where Roland Ratzenberger and Ayrton Senna lost their lives. And, in this Emilia-Romagna GP, tributes will follow.

Pierre Gasly will wear a yellow helmet with the same design as the historic one worn by Senna, and he also had the fortune of driving the Toleman of the deceased genius. And, before the cars take to the track, Sebastian Vettel, who will be in Italy during the weekend, has organized an event.

The four-time world champion has called on the Formula 1, Formula 2 and Formula 3 drivers to race around the Enzo e Dino Ferrari circuit in Imola on Thursday, May 16, in the afternoon. He has arranged to meet at 6:00 p.m. on the main straight and stop near the Ayrton Senna Memorial in the fateful Tamburello curve to make a moment of silence, in which the drivers can each put a padlock with the #FOREVERSENNA brand that Vettel will give them, and with which they can accompany the other objects that are placed on that fence in tribute to Ayrton.

After that act, they will continue running until they complete the circuit again on the finish line. Vettel posted that “all F1, F2 and F3 drivers are invited to wear a #FOREVERSENNA t-shirt and the proceeds from the sale of these will go to the Senna Foundation and V5 Projects.”

Vettel will also display Ayrton Senna’s McLaren MP4-8 at Imola this weekend, on Sunday morning before the F1 race.

The t-shirt that Vettel has made with the message #FOREVERSENNA in yellow and a drawing on the back is worth 70 euros, while he also sells a balaclava (the balaclava worn by drivers) for 69 euros.

It will not be the first time that Vettel brings together the drivers on a Grand Prix Thursday for a good cause. In it Japanese GP 2023presented its “Buzzin’ Corner” project, 11 bee hotels inside turn 2 of the Suzuka circuit to promote biodiversity, which also dyed the curbs at that point of the Japanese track black and yellow.
