Dominican Rafael Devers sets record for Boston Red Sox with his 6th game in a row hitting a home run

ST. PETERSBURG, Florida — The dominican star of the Boston Red Sox, Rafael Devers, imposed a record of franchise to the connect home run by sixth consecutive gameMonday night in Tampa Bay.

Devers shared the mark of five with Jimmie Foxx (1940), Ted Williams (1957), Dick Stuart (1963), George Scott (1977), José Canseco (1985) and Bobby Dalbec (2020). He is the first in the Major Leagues to achieve it since Mike Trout of the Los Angeles Angels achieved it in seven consecutive games between September 4 and 12, 2022.

Michael Busch of the Chicago Cubs hit five home runs earlier this season.

Tampa Bay Rays starter Taj Bradley struck out eight of the first nine batters he faced before the fourth inning, Devers was the only Boston batter who was able to put the ball in play, returning it with a contact that deflected Bradley toward the second baseman Brandon Lowe.

After Jarren Durán’s triple starting the fourth inning, and then scoring with Venezuelan Wilyer Abreu’s RBI double, Devers hit a home run to the opposite side to left field.

That was Devers’ 10th homer so far this season, extending his hitting streak to 10 games.
