Atlético Nacional is preparing for the second half of the year. To the imminent signing of Edwin Cardona and the eventual arrival of David Ospina -he is in negotiations-, the return of another player with a successful past for the institution could be added. Stefan Medina would also have had conversations about a possible return to the Antioquia team.

Aldo Leao Ramírez, former Colombian player, reported on Caracol Radio’s VBar that Medina is in talks to return to the Verdolaga club. However, he did not specify more details about this possibility.

It is worth remembering that Aldo Leao and Stefan shared the Colombian National Team during the José Pékerman era. They even played together in the 2-0 defeat against Uruguay in Montevideo in the 2014 Brazil World Cup Qualifiers, the only game in which they met on the field.

For now, Medina has a contract with Rayados de Monterrey, a club he has been with since 2017. He previously had a spell in Pachuca (on loan). His eventual signing for Nacional would mark his return to Colombia after a decade in Mexican soccer.since he left -precisely- from the Green in mid-2014.

During his first stage at Atlético Nacional (2010-2014), the defender played more than 120 games and was FPC champion several times. In total they won 7 local titles: 4 Leagues, 2 Colombia Cups and a Super League.
