Five Ecuadorian referees were summoned for the next Copa América. CONMEBOL summoned central judge Augusto Aragón, who has officiated important matches in LigaPro this season.

Augusto Aragón, 38 years old, debuted in 2017 as a central soccer referee. He became an international FIFA judge in 2020 and, since then, he has directed matches in the CONMEBOL Libertadores and Sudamericana Cups, as well as South American championships.

In 2023 he directed in the South American and the Under 17 Soccer World Cup. This year he was in the Under 23 Pre-Olympic, held in Venezuela.

This year he has directed in 11 LigaPro games, among them the Independiente el Valle vs. Barcelona, ​​Aucas vs. Catholic University and the shipyard classic between Emelec and Barcelona.

America’s Cupand will be held in the United States from June 20 to July 14. In total, 101 referees were summoned, highlighting the presence for the first time of female referees from CONMEBOL and UEFA, in a strategic exchange agreement between the confederations and Concacaf as guests.
