PHOENIX (AP) — Pinch-hitter Pavin Smith hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth inning to lead the Arizona Diamondbacks over the San Francisco Giants 4-2 on Monday night.

The D-backs have won three straight, while the Giants have lost a season-high five in a row.

Cuban Lourdes Gurriel Jr. gave Arizona a 1-0 lead in the second roll with a home run off Spencer Howard, which was the 100th long hit of his career. Blaze Alexander’s RBI single up the middle later in the inning scored Suarez, who tripled off the right-center field wall for a 2-0 lead.

San Francisco’s Matt Chapman hit a double in the fourth roll that drove in Brett Wisely, cutting the lead to 2-1. Puerto Rican Heliot Ramos tied the score 2-2 in the seventh with a solo home run.

For the Giants, Puerto Rican Heliot Ramos went 2-for-4 with one run scored and one RBI. Cuban Jorge Soler 4-1.
