A new suspended match adds the 2024 Chile Cup. Now the affected duel was between CD Presidente Ibáñez against Huachipato. The duel was scheduled for this Saturday, June 15, and the Presidential Delegation of Magallanes had given the go-ahead for the meeting.
During the afternoon this Friday it had been reported that the match would take place, and that the starting whistle was set for 12:45 p.m. They even published images of the venue under the onslaught of the climate front, but which was still available to play at the Fiscal Antonio Rispoli Díaz Stadium.
However, the heavy fall of snow that continued in Punta Arenas forced the suspension of the round of 16 match in the southern zone. What was evident with records where the crystallized ice reached more than 20 centimeters. Which made it impossible to distinguish the goals on the playing field.
The adverse weather conditions even affected the transfer of the steel cast. This Friday their flight to the capital of the Province of Magallanes was cancelled. Therefore, it was planned to travel to Santiago and from the capital to go directly to the area where they had to play.

But this plan could not be realized due to the adverse weather. Which finally ended with the match suspended. Through social networks, the current Chilean soccer champion thanked the authorities for their understanding in suspending the duel against President Ibáñez.
