Egan Bernal was unable to maintain his place on the podium in the time trial that closed the Tour of Switzerland this Friday. The Colombian cyclist finished fourth in the general classification by just 10″, giving up his position with the Dane Mattias Skjelmose.
He Team Emirates dominated the race from start to finish, making 1-2 overall. The British Adam Yates finished second this Sunday and became champion, beating his teammate by 22″the Portuguese Joao Almeidawho won the time trial by 9″ over his teammate.
Egan did not have a bad performance, finishing the time trial in ninth position, 1’30” behind Almeida; However, Skjelmose stood out for his performanceoccupying third position of the day just 21″ from first place.
