Luis Javier Paradela makes the leap to European football and will play in Romania

Cuban soccer player Luis Javier Paradela will continue his career in Europe, after an agreement that places him next season as a player for the University of Craiova, one of the most important teams in the Romanian league.

The man from Matanzas, part of the Costa Rican Deportivo Saprissa squad, will arrive at the Romanian club on loan for one season with a purchase option, which makes his future performance the key to staying on the Old Continent.

This is because, as part of the agreement, Paradela renewed his contract with Saprissa for three more seasons – until 2028 -, after adjustment in the negotiations to reach a favorable point for all parties.

In the opinion of journalist Alexander Ramírez Tápanes, this is an important leap in the Cuban soccer player’s career, as he will go from the Costa Rican league, which occupies 36th place in the list of the most important tournament in the world, to a competition located in the 19th place in that ranking, and in 11th place in the European leagues.

Paradela, 27 years old, would be joining one of the teams that usually fights for the title in the local tournament, in whose most recent edition he placed third.

Another point in favor of the Cuban player would be the opportunity to enter European tournaments at the club level in the upcoming season, since the player from the University of Craiova will be playing in the Conference Leaguealthough it would start from the qualifying phase.

Ramírez Tápanes points out that the player would be traveling to Romania this Friday to undergo the necessary prior medical check-up, and once that procedure is completed he would be at the club’s disposal.

Thanks to his performances in recent campaigns, Paradela has become one of the best Cuban soccer players of the moment and a fixture in the national team squad, currently immersed in the qualifying process for the next World Cup.

Since his first signing as a professional with the Universidad de San Carlos club in Guatemala, he has accumulated experience in different teams in the leagues of El Salvador, the United States (USL Championship) and Costa Rica.
