Mexico won the silver medal in the Pan-American Men’s U-17 Indoor Volleyball Cup, an event that took place in Colima and is part of the national preparation for the World Championship of the specialty.
The Aztec representative looked dominant throughout the contest, as they finished the first phase undefeated and won Group A, after beating Guatemala 3-1 (25-18, 22-25, 25-17 and 25-19). 3-0 (28-26, 25-17 and 25-16) to Costa Rica and 3-2 (25-22, 25-21, 20-25, 19-25 and 15-13) to Canada.
This is how the Mexicans achieved their direct pass to the semifinals, where they ran into a dangerous Cuban team; However, the locals continued with a dominant plan and won 3-1 (25-12, 22-25, 25-18 and 25-17), thus ensuring their presence in the confrontation for the maximum medal.
In the decisive match, held this Saturday, the national team met Puerto Rico, which after five intense and electrifying episodes conquered Colima territory with a final score of 3-2 (25-10, 23-25, 25-27 , 25-16 and 15-12), so the home team won the silver metal and Cuba took the bronze.
