Those of you who are more veterans may remember Advance Wars, a game of turn-based strategy for the old Game Boy Advance which, just in 2023, received a remake for the Nintendo Switch that garnered very good reviews from our colleagues at IGN Spain. The original game was praised for its aesthetics, mechanics, and difficulty curve.

This game, one of those franchises that we would love to see resurrected, had a kind of homage (or replica, depending on how you look at it) on mobile systems known as Warbits. This was a few years ago and, instead of preparing a sequel, its developers have decided make a remake that is present on mobile phones and computers.

Warbits+: all the information

The remake, which is called Warbits+, faithfully follows in the footsteps of its predecessor in terms of basing its game mechanics on Advance Wars: in a scenario displayed on a square grid, armies are arranged and launched into battle. Through tactics, power-ups and the abilities of each unit (among other things) you must dispatch the enemy as quickly and cleanly as possible.

For this we will have various game modes: campaign, challenge mode, map editor and against other players online and offline. And to this we must add the revitalized graphics, the rewriting of the code and the new features that the developers have promised that we will see starting next May 7.

The existence of Warbits+ This is very good news for fans of military strategyalthough it is in a universe with a very anime component and much more casual than in titles for more mature audiences that we can see on other platforms (images of the Total War series, or Company Of Heroes, come to mind).

Likewise, it is interesting to see how a mobile game studio get a second chance to create a game that best fits the vision they had from the beginning. It is something that does not usually happen, but it is good to see that Risky Lab (creators of the game) have been able to have their moment to try it.
