Garmin has announced a beta update for the Fenix 6, MARQ, Enduro, Tactix Delta and Quatix 6 smartwatches, version 26.96. The software is expected to be one of the last test versions before a stable update is released for all wearables. As such, this is a relatively minor beta update, including only a bug fix for these smartwatches.

In the beta 26.96 changelog, Garmin notes that it has resolved an issue known to cause “Sport devices” to shut down. Unfortunately, the company does not list exactly which products this was an issue for. The most extensive list of all changes since version 26.00 includes new features such as device settings backup and restore, split tracking for skiing, and improved music randomization for some models.

As with other beta versions, this is a phased rollout; According to the latest update from the Garmin team, approximately 50% of users should already have the update. You can manually check if you have the software by going to Menu > System > Software update > Check for updates. It remains to be seen when Garmin will announce the next stable update for models like the Fenix 6 Pro smartwatch and other related wearables.
