Apple Music is better on Mac and I’ll show you in thirty seconds

Can you be an Apple Music geek? I honestly think so. I have been using the platform since it was launched in 2015, and I have been using it on Mac, iPhone, iPad, and even iPod Touch. And after having tried all these devices, I have one thing clear: Apple Music is better, if used on Mac. At least, for what it represents to me. Because? I tell you all the reasons in this article!

Apple Music runs on Mac through the native Music app. There are two reasons why I think this platform is best used on the computer: hardware and software. However, beyond the catalog or the sound quality, it must be taken into account that the management interface is a differential point. In addition, Apple computers have something that iPhones do not, and that is key to obtaining good sound quality.

Mac has a 3.5 millimeter jack

This is a feature that, on both iPhones and iPads, we no longer have. Although it is very convenient to be able to use headphones without cables, the truth is that, when we have the best sound quality, it is when we connect wired headphones and there is no loss of quality.

Until the iPhone 15, if we want to listen to music with a cable, we must use a Lightning adapter. The problem? The architecture of the connector causes quality to be lost. Because the Mac has a headphone jack, adapters are not necessary and, therefore, there is no loss of quality.

The order of the library

On the iPhone, Apple Music shows a section called Recently Added. Here you can see, in chronological order, all the content that we have been adding to the library. However, we can only see a short period of time.

The best way I have to locate content is by looking back. Thanks to this, I remember songs that I added a year or two ago, but I don’t remember the title (I have more than 6,000 songs in my library). On the Mac, the interface allows me to see, in chronological order, all the music I’ve added since I subscribed in 2015and I can more easily find the songs I want.

I know which songs I listen to the most

It is not information that is relevant, nor is it information that the majority of users will be interested in at first (or perhaps they will). In terms of interface, the native Music application allows me to do something that is not possible on other devices: I can see, counted, the times I have listened to a song on the platform, over the years.

Is it vitally important information? No. But it is cool information that I like to be able to consult, since it is, at the end of the day, about the listening habits that I have. This function is inherited from the old iTunes. However, I think it is interesting, in case we want to look back, and see what has definitely been our favorite song.
