Starfield players will finally be able to play at 60 FPS on the Xbox Series X, and Bethesda shows a preview of the new ground vehicles

Starfield May Updatepreviewed by Bethesda’s Todd Howard earlier this week, is now available for beta testing on PC.

This update brings with it the long-awaited revamp of the surface map, as well as a new 60 fps mode for Xbox Series In addition, Bethesda has provided a brief advancement of land vehicles that will come to Starfield in a future update.

The changes begin with “big improvements” for those annoying surface maps, changes that are detailed in a development video uploaded by its official channel. Bethesda says the goal of its renewal is introduce more “utility and detail” to maps, including cities now being properly represented with 3D maps showing icons denoting points of interest, Additionally, when activating the Starfield Scanner, these icons are overlaid directly on the environment, so players can more easily find a specific location.

The update introduces an extensive set of options that allow players configure Starfield to best suit your tastes, these include options to separately adjust the combat damage output of enemies and players, to increase or decrease aim assist, to make ammunition light, to increase or decrease the effectiveness of healing items, to adjust the instances in which autosaves are triggered, and more. Also, Bethesda is introducing an “extreme” difficulty option that is above the current “very difficult”.

Regarding ship customizationplayers can now activate a mode “decorate” while they are aboard their ships. This works like this similar to Starfield’s Outpost modeallowing players to place everything from rugs and lamps to wall monitors and warning signs directly in first person and to better accommodate the “decorate” mode, Bethesda is introducing new, clutter-free habitats to use when building ships.

Starting with the May Starfield patch, players who perform a “New game +” can redistribute their features and change their appearance when passing through Unity, while players of Xbox Series X gets new settings that allow them to prioritize between visual performance and quality. Starfield Performance Mode is designed to be used in conjunction with a new 60fps optionwhich is available alongside a 30fps setting for those with standard displays, however gamers using 120Hz VRR displays can choose between 30, 40, 60, or unlimited frame rates, with 40fps being the default setting. .

Other new features include the ability to disable dialogue cameras so you don’t have to look closely at someone’s face every time you want to chat, and there are UI tweaks for inventory and item management. The full patch notes are available on Bethesda’s website, and the update, officially known as 1.11.33will be available to all players once I finished the Steam beta.

Look at the new land vehicles

In addition to talking about new missions, and the vaguest reference to the game’s Shattered Space expansion, which is scheduled for this “fall,” Bethesda also quickly showed planetary ground vehicles that will arrive in a future update. There’s not much to say about it – they took a little walk and that was it – but they’re definitely on their way.

Todd Howardminimized the absence of ground vehicles before Starfield launchinsisting that it was a deliberate design decision that allowed the studio to “make it an experience where we know how quickly [los jugadores] they see things.” But last December, Bethesda hinted that there were “new ways to travel” on the horizon for Starfield, leading to this latest announcement.
