The big sensation at CES 2024 held in Las Vegas last January was, without a doubt, the Rabbit R1, a device the size of a wireless headphone case that has an operating system powered by Artificial Intelligence and that was intended to be the substitute for the smartphone.

This claim has remained a mere marketing maneuver, since, a few weeks ago, it was discovered that the Rabbit R1 software is, in fact, an Android app. This prompted the most restless minds on the Internet to try install a full version of Android on this device and now there is already a user who has achieved it.

They show that it is possible to run LineageOS on a Rabbit R1

Recently, the users of X, the old Twitter, @MarcelD505 and @thel3l published two posts on the well-known social network in which they shared an image of the Rabbit R1 running one of the most popular custom ROMs today, LineageOS.

As you can see in the post by @MarcelD505, which we leave you on these lines, we can only see the Rabbit R1 in the LineageOS configuration screenbut in subsequent publications this X user assured that this AI device was capable of run a Generic System Image (GSI) from LineageOS.

This same X user also confirmed that the Rabbit R1 is practically functional with LineageOS, except for the detail that the camera motor does not work, it does not rotate. This means that the camera is operational, but cannot be turned to face forward or backwardso that only photographs can be taken of the orange body of the Rabbit R1.

Likewise, @MarcelD505 explained that installing LineageOS on the Rabbit R1 allowed him to discover some of the specifications of this device such as its processor, a MediaTek P35, its RAM, 4GB, or its internal storage, 128 GB.

This X user has already announced that he will publish an article soon explaining how LineageOS works on the Rabbit R1but the fact that it is possible to run an Android ROM on it opens up a world of possibilities for this curious device.
