DETROIT (AP) — Kerry Carpenter hit a two-run homer for the second straight game and the Detroit Tigers beat the Toronto Blue Jays 2-1 on Saturday.

Reese Olson (1-5) limited the Blue Jays to one unearned run and three hits in 6 1/3 innings for their first win of the season. He left his previous start in Kansas City with a hip contusion after being hit by the ball.

Olson, making his 10th start of the season, was also dealing with a lack of run support in his previous outings. His ERA dropped to 1.92 after another quality outing.

Tyler Holton got the final three outs for the second save of his career and first of the season.

On Friday, Carpenter also hit a two-run homer in Detroit’s 6-2 win.

The Blue Jays’ Puerto Rican starter, José Berríos (5-4), allowed two runs and seven hits, striking out five in seven innings.

For the Blue Jays, Dominican Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is 3-1.

For the Tigers, Dominican Wenceel Pérez 0-4. Colombian Gio Urshela 3-2. Puerto Rican Javi Báez 3-0.
