MSI has announced that it plans to launch a new version of its Claw portable console, the new MSI Claw 8 AI Plus, which will integrate the power and performance of the new Intel Lunar Lake processors and expand its battery to 80Wh.

The Taiwanese technology company presented its first Claw portable gaming device in January of this year during the CES 2024 technology fair, which integrates the Intel Core Ultra processor and technologies designed to offer a smooth experience in Triple A titles.

Now, six months later, MSI has announced a new version, Claw 8 AI Plus, which will update the original ‘hardware’ by expanding its battery capacity up to 8Wh, as well as its performance, since it will include the new Intel processors, Lunar Lake.

This is what the company has shared in statements to The Verge and has been able to learn about the Digital Trends media within the framework of the Computex 2024 technology event, where it has stressed that it is a new generation of the console.

In this sense, MSI has stressed that Claw 8 AI Plus will have advances at the battery level. Specifically, it has been anticipated that it will reach 80Wh, which ensures more autonomy compared to the 53Wh offered by the original Claw.

Following this line, it has also detailed that it will update the processor with the new Intel chips, Lunar Lake, which the American technology company presented this Tuesday at Computex 2024. These chips ensure up to 40 percent more power, in addition to improving its efficiency energy. Likewise, they have an NPU that reaches up to 48 TOPS of AI performance.

Continuing with the news, in relation to the hardware design, MSI will also implement changes to the screen that, although it will maintain the 1,080p resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, will have a size of 8 inches, instead of 7 inches. from the previous version.

Likewise, Claw 8 AI Plus will have an improved tactile sensation regarding its buttons and casing, and will integrate a second USB-C port with compatibility for Thunderbolt 4 connection.

With all this, as MSI sources have indicated to Digital Trends, the new MSI Claw 8 AI Plus console will be launched on the market in September of this year 2024.
