Of course, Kurasakis himself affirms that there is a possibility that the announcement is made before the event and the first revelation is made at the eventbeing something that although it is not confirmed as such because it is not sure, if true, the time would be counted, since we are less than 48 hours away from the Summer Game Fest being broadcast.

For the rest, it should be noted that Gearbox Entertainment, the Borderlands development studio, was acquired by 2K earlier this year for an agreement worth 460 million dollars, so it seems obvious that the company is going to want to bring in one of its star franchises to amortize the operation.
