Scott’s quintessential XC twin, the popular Spark RC, receives two new versions whose mounts include the most advanced electronic suspensions on the market. These are the new Scott Spark RC World Cup and Spark RC World Cup EVO, both with RockShox Flight Attendant fork and shock absorber.
These new RockShox electronic suspensions had already reached numerous bikes from different manufacturers although they were not yet available on the Scott Spark RC, the bicycle used by Nino Schurter who, on the other hand, has been one of the main collaborators in the development of the smart suspension technology for XC from the SRAM brand.
For the most clueless readers, Flight Attendant is the name given to RockShox’s intelligent electronic suspension system, which has debuted in the world of XC with the launch of a second generation of this technology integrated into the RockShox SID Ultimate and SID forks. As expected, some of the best riders in the world have participated in its development, including Nino Schurter. The second generation of Flight Attendant breaks into the Cross Country modality with a specific design and operation for this discipline. They are intelligent suspensions focused on competition that offer automatic management in a precise and fast way, with an improvement of 1.8% in maximum competition compared to a manual system.
Perhaps this gain may seem marginal, but not in the world of high competition. Proof of this is the data provided by the brand itself and which has a lot to do with the best XCO rider today: Nino Schurter. The Swiss took victory in the Lenzerheide World Cup, achieving his absolute record of victories, driving a Scott Spark with Flight Attendant suspensions.
In the aforementioned race, the suspensions of Nino Schurter’s bike made, completely automatically and autonomously, no less than 1,325 adjustments throughout the 90 minutes that the test lasted, a figure much higher than the approximately 300 adjustments they made the rest of the runners with conventional manually operated suspensions.
Now, this advanced technology comes to Scott’s two best-selling bikes, the Spark RC World Cup and Spark RC World Cup, to meet the needs of the most demanding riders. The Spark RC World Cup EVO is the same bike that the members of the SCOTT-SRAM MTB Racing Team compete with, while the Spark RC World Cup is a slightly more modest version in terms of build (and price).
These two new Scott Spark RCs with Flight Attendant suspensions will be available in the Spanish market starting in the fall, with an announced price of €12,210 for the Spark RC World Cup EVO and €8,650 for the Spark RC World Cup.
