Access the CIT Menu of your Xiaomi, Redmi or POCO
The CIT menu is a feature built into Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO smartphones that allows detailed testing of various components of the device. To access this menu, there are two methods:
From ‘Settings’:
- Open the ‘Settings’ app.
- Go to “About phone.”
- Tap ‘Kernel Version’ repeatedly until the CIT menu appears.
With a secret code:
- Open the calling app.
- Dial the following code: *#*#6484#*#*.
Both methods will take you to the same menu, where you can perform a series of tests to check the status of different components of the device, including the screen. It is advisable to perform these tests periodically to detect any problem in time and avoid major inconveniences. To verify if the screen of your Xiaomi, Redmi or POCO works correctly, it will be necessary to pay attention to two tests in particular.
Test CIT 7: Touch Sensor / Touch Sensor
This is a tool designed to verify if the panel is functioning correctly. To do this, you must slide your finger along all the lines drawn on the screen and fill in the blue spaces. While you are carrying out this process, you will notice that the mobile begins to vibrate, which is a sign that the execution is correct.
If there is a problem with the screen, it will be easy to detect because there would be areas that you could not fill with blue, except for eight spaces that remain empty at the intersections of the lines.
Test CIT 8: Display / Screen
The next step in diagnosing the screen of your Xiaomi, Redmi or POCO is pixel testing and detecting dead areas on the screen. To do this, select the ‘Screen Test’ or ‘Display Test’ option in the CIT menu. This test will show different colors and patterns on the screen to help you identify any dead pixels or areas of the screen that are not working properly.
During this test, the screen will change to various solid colors (red, green, blue, white, and black). Observe each color change carefully to identify any irregularities. Dead pixels will appear as dots that do not change color, while dead areas will be areas where the screen does not display color correctly.
