In a recent interview, the head of Team Asobi, Nicolas Doucetshared that they plan to add additional challenge levels to AstroBot through a DLC. These levels will be shorter and will focus on specific platform challenges. Although Doucet did not reveal all the details, he did hint that there could be more after-dinner conversations in these additional contents.

The challenge levels shown to the press include objectives such as rescuing a small robot disguised as a character from PlayStation, suggesting that the DLC could bring more of these character cameos. It is currently confirmed that there will be around 150 cameos of characters from PlayStationso it will be interesting which other characters may appear in the future.

In addition to the challenge levels, we’ll likely see character-based themed levels in both the base game and the DLC. In this same presentation of AstroBot, a section could be seen where bots disguised as Kratos and Atreus are rescued by winning a fight against a boss. The game then continues in an open ice world. This could suggest that there will be a thematic level based on god of war and possibly this will be repeated for other characters, such as the desert that we see in the trailer and the bot disguised as the protagonist of Journey.

Doucet also mentioned that PlayStation gave the green light to Team Asobi to include any character you want in the game. During the trailer you can actually see characters like Aloy, PaRappa, Nathan Drake and the protagonist of Shadow of the Colossus. This inclusion of characters from different franchises will add a strong touch of nostalgia to the title.

It should also be mentioned that Astro’s Playroom received an update recently celebrating the announcement of AstroBot. This update brings new objectives to the themed worlds of PlayStationanticipating the launch of the game on September 6.

AstroBot It will not only be a fun platform game, but it also seeks to be a demonstration of the technological capabilities of the PlayStation 5 as it knew how to be Astro’s Playroom in the console output. Doucet hopes the game can become a “first experience” for kids new to video games, offering an accessible and exciting title for both young and veteran players.
