Facebook’s parent company, Meta Platformshas discussed the Integration of the generative artificial intelligence model of Goal in Apple Inc’s recently announced AI system for iPhones, ‘Apple Intelligence’ as reported by the Wall Street Journal.
In addition to Google and Meta, AI startups Anthropic and Perplexity have also been in talks with Apple to bring its generative AI to Apple Intelligence, the Journal reports, citing experts. For now, Apple, Meta, Perplexity and Anthropic have not immediately responded to after-hours requests for comment. But discussions are not over and may not come to fruition, the Journal reported, adding that deals with Apple would help AI companies gain greater distribution of their products.
He size of the possible financial benefit is not yet sure, but the conversations involved AI companies selling premium subscriptions to their services through Apple Intelligence, according to the report.
