SANTO DOMINGO.- The Dominican Soccer Team will face Antigua and Barbuda this Tuesday, October 15, within the framework of the fourth day of group D of League B of the Concacaf Nations League 2024-2025. The match will take place at the Bermuda National Sports Centre, in the town of Hamilton, starting at 1:30 PM.
Sedofútbol arrives undefeated with three victories in the same number of games, leading its group with 9 points. Bermuda is still in the table with 6 units, Dominica has 3, while Antigua and Barbuda has not yet added. In their last matchup, last Saturday, the Dominican Republic decisively defeated Antigua and Barbuda with a score of 5-0.
With this new confrontation, the Dominican team hopes to secure another victory that brings them closer to promotion to League A of the Concacaf Nations League and a ticket to the 2025 Gold Cup, both achievements would be historic for Dominican soccer.
Dorny Romero and Ronaldo Vásquez lead the team’s offense with three goals each, while Júnior Firpo has scored two, both in the previous match against Antigua and Barbuda. Heinz Morschel and César “danco” García have also contributed to the scoreboard with a goal each. The team’s defense has shown its strength, keeping a clean sheet in the last two games, accumulating a total of 219 minutes without conceding a score.
It should be noted that Júnior Firpo, César “danco” García and Miguel Beltré are under warning, as they have received a yellow card, and a new warning would imply suspension due to accumulation.
For its part, Antigua and Barbuda arrives with two important casualties: Cardel Roberts, who will not play due to an accumulation of cards, and Allen Vashami, sent off for a straight red card on the second day against Bermuda.
The last two days of the group stage will be played in November on Dominican territory, where the Dominican Republic will face Dominica and Bermuda.
