Norwegian announced the closure of its bases in Trondheim (TRD) and Stavanger (SVG)Norway, from April 2025describing them as “unproductive.” This decision impacts 250 employeeswho have been absent on October 9 in protest, generating cancellations y delays on the airline’s flights.

According to the Norwegian media E24, the Norwegian Pilots Union (NPU) reported that employees are frustrated y angry for the decision, which was made without «real dialogue» with the workers. The measure comes only weeks after agreeing on the collective agreements for cabin crew and pilots, which has increased tension.

Norwegian has offered 140 employees from Stavanger and the 110 de Trondheim the option to move to Oslo. However, the union is not satisfied, arguing that many employees cannot move because personal reasons and that some would choose to leave their positions rather than relocate.
