Moscow (EFE).- One person died and 11 others were injured last day in Ukrainian attacks against the Russian region of Belgorod, bordering Ukraine, the governor of that entity of the Russian Federation, Vyacheslav Gladkov, reported today.
“Yesterday 11 people were injured and, as a result of shelling by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, unfortunately for us, one person died,” the governor said in a video posted on his Telegram channel.
He added that the authorities continue working to guarantee the safety of the population and pointed out that more than 6,000 devices have been installed in the entity that automatically open the doors of buildings when the air attack alarms are activated so that citizens who are in the street can take refuge.
The Belgorod region suffers almost daily drone attacks and artillery shelling from Ukraine, forcing its authorities to evacuate tens of thousands of people from the border territories.
With an area of 27,100 square kilometers, it shares a 540-kilometer border with Ukraine, and is a neighbor of the Kursk region, part of which was invaded by Ukrainian troops on August 6.
Since then, Russia has launched three major counterattacks – in August, September and on the 10th – to try to liberate the territory occupied by Ukrainian forces.

Ukraine reports attack on oil depot
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this Saturday of the attack last night against an oil depot in the Ukrainian region of Luhansk, occupied by Russia, where a fire broke out.

Oil and petroleum products were stored in this base, which were supplied, among other things, for the needs of the Russian army,” states the statement posted on social networks.
The extent of the destruction is being investigated, he adds.
“The operation was carried out by forces and means of the Main Intelligence Directorate in cooperation with other components of the Defense Forces,” he indicates, adding that this oil deposit had already been attacked previously.
